About AGIP

AGIP is a registered charity (Number 1083030). It was established in 1974 to provide psychoanalytic psychotherapy services and a training programme. The authority of the Association is vested in its elected Council and the work of the Association is carried forward by the Council and its sub-committees responsible for Training, Clinical matters, Professional matters and Continuing Professional Development.

AGIP has a code of ethics and good practice to which all our members subscribe. The organisation is a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) which maintains standards for the profession in the U.K. AGIP plays an active role in developing the profession of psychotherapy and is both an accrediting and a training organisation within the UKCP.

AGIP provides an intensive, pluralistic training programme in individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy which leads to Professional Membership of AGIP and registration within the Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Section of the UKCP. AGIP also runs a clinical centre for the assessment, referral and treatment of patients and offers low-fee psychotherapy through the Fairbridge Clinic.

AGIP does not discriminate on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality or disability.
